There are 30 couplers between manuals and pedals and between the Gallery Organ and the Sanctuary Organ. There are five combination pistons for each manual and six general toe pistons, and the usual sweet and crescendo pedals.

Notes:

1. The Cathedral was consecrated in September, 1855. At the time it was one of the largest churches in North America, seating 2,000 people.

2. The consecration ceremonies, attended by Archbishop John Hughes of New York City, inspired him to build St. Patrick’s Cathedral for his diocese.

3. The religious art – statues, sculptures and stained glass in the sanctuary – are unparalleled.

4. The size of the auditorium predicates its use for the largest cultural, state and ceremonial gatherings.

5. The organ has 4 manusl, 51 stops and 3350 pipes and controls as well the two manual fifteen stop organ with 750 pipes in the Sanctuary.
